Our Animals
RESERVATIONS CLOSED
This message is written with a heavy heart. Unfortunately, due to the increase in COVID-19 cases, along with the amount of non-Fremont county residents we see on a daily basis here at Shepperly Farms, we have decided to close until further notice. The safety of our family and our animals are of the utmost importance to us since the farm is where we all live full-time.We will honor the reservations that have been made through August, but will not be taking any further reservations at this time.
Thank you to everyone who was able to make it out this season. Your love and support are what keep us going. We sincerely apologize to everyone who were not able to visit the farm. We here at Shepperly Farm offer our sincerest gratitude to all of our friends and supporters.
Gizmo Nigerian Dwarf Goat
Chill as a Cucumber
Gizmo is the most laid-back, relaxed, chill goat at Shepperly Farm. His beard and fancy pompadour make him extra adorable, and very popular with guests and the other goats. Gizmo loves the other goats at Shepperly and gets along with everyone. If you're looking for a relaxed goat to pet while you're here, Gizmo is as chill as they come.
Shepperly Farm Fun Facts
Nigerian Dwarf Goats originated in West Africa. They were originally brought to the United States on ships many years ago to be used as food for large cats being delivered to zoos across the country. Sometimes, these goats survived the trip and were left at the zoos to be used as another attraction for guests.
Thanks to their small size and friendly nature, Nigerian Dwarf Goats make great pets. Their size makes them easier to maintain than a full size dairy goat because they require less living space and resources. They are friendly, gentle and are a great animal to have around with children.
They are also great animals to mix in with other animals. They get along well with llamas, cows, donkeys, horses and other farm animals and will happily run and play with their much bigger farm friends!

This place is A-MAZING! I can't say enough good things about the owners and animals at Shepperly Farm. I could have spent all day there.
What a wonderful experience for adults and children! Thank you for sharing your time and farm to teach children the love of animals.
This place is very family friendly. The kids had tons of fun, and the Shepperly family was very knowledgeable about all of their animals. My kids learned a lot while cuddling the cutest and cleanest animals. We will return several times this year. Exactly what Canon needed.
Such a fun place to visit! My kids had so much fun and the owners are so nice. This this is a must see while in Cañon City! We will definitely be back! Thank you Shepperly Family!
Lots of fun! Family friendly and the sweetest animals ever! Very therapeutic! And the owner is amazing!
What an awesome and educational place to take the kids to! The owners were so welcoming and knowledgeable. We got to physically pet or hold all the animals. The animals were all very friendly and some even posed for pictures.
